Deauville Airport is establishing itself as the interregional reference airport for residents of Upper and Lower Normandy. For several years, each region defended the interests of its local airport, preventing any of them from developing fully or correctly. Ultimately, residents were denied a proper service and the regional public authorities were forced to consider how best to improve aviation services in the greater Normandy region. This led to the creation of the Syndicat Mixte of Deauvcille Norlandy Airport in July 2006.
Today, Deauville Airport is developing steadily and significantly. The number of charter flights is increasing, allowing people of the region plenty of opportunity to fly to a variety of destinations at reasonable cost. This fulfils a primary objective of the Syndicat Mixte: to act for the benefit of all citizens in Upper and Lower Normandy.
