CityJet, part of the Air France KLM Group will open and operate an air service between Deauville and London City airport for three months, starting on the 24th June.

Alain LE VERN, President of the Upper Normandy Region and President of the Syndicat Mixte de l’Aéroport de Deauville Normandie applaudes the decision and the commitment of CityJet to operate a regular scheduled service between the two airports.

« This service which links Deauville to London City, a key airport hub in the United Kingdom is excellent news for the two regions of Normandy, who for too long have been deprived of
regular scheduled services due to an unproductive form of competition between the other airports in the regions.

From the 24th June, CityJet, part of the Air France KLM group since 2000 will offer four
flights per week between Deauville and London City for a period of three months. An introductory one way fare of €59 is available for many seats and this excellent offer

Procedure to reduce noise pollution around Deauville Airport

After several months of discussions with the Direction of Air Navigation Services, the Syndicat Mixte of Deauville Normandy Airport announced in early May of this year a change of take off procedure at Deauville Airport.

From now on all aircraft with a MTOW of over 5,5 tonnes (predominantly Airbus and / or Boeing) taking off on Runway 30 (westerly direction) will be obliged to proceed in a  straight line to 3000 feet before they can change direction for thier final destination. At this point aircraft will be over the sea and thus the level of noise disturbance to residential areas will be greatly reduced.

This change of procedure was published as a NOTAM on the 7th May 2009 and is a specific response to residents' worries about noise pollution in and around the airport.
